HANDICRAFT CELEBRATION: CLASS IX ‘B’ CRAFTS TRADITIONAL PANKHAS

As part of their CBSE lesson Winds of Change, the students of Class IX ‘B’ participated in a vibrant craft activity on 17 July 2026, celebrating India’s rich handicraft tradition. Facilitated by Dr. Mohammed Ismail R, the session challenged students to work in teams to design and create traditional pankhas (hand fans) within a 30-minute timeframe. Using colourful materials and innovative ideas, the students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, quick decision-making, and artistic expression. The activity successfully fostered a deeper cultural appreciation for India’s traditional craftsmanship. The session concluded with an impressive exhibition of the beautifully crafted pankhas, standing as a testament to the students’ creativity and collaborative spirit.

Educational Field Visit – Grade VIII

As part of the Kaushal Bodh – Vocational Education Programme, 145 Grade VIII students, accompanied by eight teachers, visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Virinjipuram, on 8 July 2026. Dr. Ramasamy, Assistant Professor, introduced students to hydroponics, explaining its systems, benefits, and differences from traditional farming. The visit included a hands-on activity where students prepared germination beds by spreading paddy straw and sowing soaked maize seeds, helping them apply classroom concepts in a practical setting. Students also explored the centre and interacted with farm animals, making the experience engaging and enjoyable. The visit enhanced their understanding of sustainable agriculture and encouraged experiential learning beyond the classroom.

Colours Day Celebration

The Kindergarten campus came alive with vibrant colours as children enthusiastically celebrated Colours Day through a series of engaging theme-based activities. Each colour-themed day offered unique learning experiences, including parades, songs, rhymes, storytelling, art and craft, interactive games, healthy snack time, and creative classroom activities. Dressed in colourful attire, the little learners confidently explored the significance of each colour while enhancing their observation, vocabulary, creativity, communication, and fine motor skills. The joyful celebrations transformed learning into an exciting adventure, making every day memorable and reinforcing the concept of colours through fun-filled, hands-on experiences.

The UKG children explored the newly opened Reading Activity Room with great excitement. They listened to interesting stories and enjoyed reading story books in a joyful environment.
